Pocky
These sweet and crunchy chocolate pocky bring up a huge nostalgic factor for me. Every visit to the Asian market with my mama saw me with these on the way out. It was like our reward for good behavior. Since then, I’ve formulated a recipe that captures its essence and I’ve only grown to love them even more.

Serves: 2-3 Dozen
Ingredients
- ½ c + 1 tb unbleached flour
- 1 ts sugar
- ¼ ts baking powder
- ½ ts fine salt
- 2½ tb soft, unsalted butter
- 2 tb sweetened condensed milk
- 1 ts water
- 1 c melted chocolate {of your choice}
Instructions
- You can use a food processor or mix this by hand. Begin by combining the dry ingredients.
- Pulse/cut in the butter until combined.
- Whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and water and add it in.
- Work until the dough comes together.
- Gather into plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
- When ready, pinch off pieces of the dough and roll out into chopstick like thickness. Try to make roughly similar sizes.
- Bake at 350 for 9-12 minutes or until it reaches your desired golden brown.
- Cool for at least a couple hours before dipping into melted chocolate and decorate as you wish.
This makes approximately 2 1/2 dozen but greatly varies with how big/small you roll them.

Hi Angela,
I have never heard those delicate sticks of goodness call Pocky before but off hand I can’t remember what I remember them as, lol…I think Pepperidge Farm makes something similar. I do know for sure that they are a favorite of mine. It could be very dangerous knowing how to bake them at home, lol…
Thank you so much for sharing, Angela…
P.S. Love the color of your nail polish:)
By creating this pocky recipe, you have made many pocky lover happy.
